The Dog Schidt Optics Trump primes pay tribute to the vastly underrated glass makers of the pre-1980’s Soviet Union, creating striking and distinctive in-camera looks, impossible to replicate with any other lens. They are assembled using hand-selected matched optical elements from historic Soviet lenses and combined with a unique swappable rear-element and aperture ring system. The Trumps provide a highly desirable ‘old-glass’ quality, and they enable cinematographers to create truly unique looks with the organic feel of in-camera optics. One of the most interesting features of the Trumps is the ability to insert one of 30+ supplied aperture rings behind the rear element, providing subtle and not-so-subtle bokeh effects – oval defocus, parallax distortion, star bokeh, etc.
